Since the DAO experiment in 2017, Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) have encountered numerous challenges, including rug pulls, hacks and manipulations. This master thesis aims to bring DAOs closer to democracy. The research explores various voting mechanisms employed in DAOs, such as quadratic voting and liquid democracy. It analyzes the challenges of achieving harmonized interests, fair leadership, and transparency. Ultimately, this thesis aims to provide insights into the complexities of democratic governance in DAOs and express recommendations to contribute to the advancement of decentralized decision- making structures.
