Abstract

It is difficult to contest the rise of student entrepreneurship in Belgium. Incubators are created, universities are adapting their curriculum and the legal status of student entrepreneur has been developed. Yet though, from my own experience as a student entrepreneur, not many ventures get to be concretized into companies. This thesis aims at discovering the underlying barriers behind more concretization of student entrepeneur ventures.
This first hypothesis developed from the review of literature, the perception of a funding gap, turned out not to be the main barrier towards more companies created by student entrepreneurs. Qualitative interviews have been conducted and then analyzed. The data showed clear barriers and proposals have been made to adress these issues.
