Abstract
This retrospective study presents the results of 320 myringoplasties with a follow-up of 3 years. By using a temporalis fascia graft, we get an overall success rate of 87,7% closed eardrum (71,2% of perfect new tympanic membrane); the patient's audition was improved in 65,6% of cases. In children, we observe a higher rate of late reperforation (in correlation with the higher incidence of acute otitis media) and a lower auditory improvement (due to recurrent serous chronic otitis). Although, we don't consider a pre-requisite minimal age to operate. We compare the results of several surgical techniques, according to the size and the localisation of the perforation. Certain technical details allow to reduce the risks of graft lateralization and anterior blunting.
