Abstract
In this paper, we first present a pragmatic solution that we used to record and distribute several hundred hours of courses over the Internet. Our method allows easily recording of classroom lectures when course's content is available on the Web and the professor uses a wireless microphone. We show the advantages of such a method. Evaluation by students and teachers is discussed. The second part of this article is devoted to eConf and WebReplay. These two freely available software products have been developed in order to allow easily and automatic recording and playback of lectures. eConf is a great tool to record a complete Web session synchronized with the presenter's voice. The multimedia information is contained in a SMIL-like file. The WebReplay applet allows the recorded session to be played on any Java enabled Web browser.
