Abstract
N-broadening coefficients have been measured for 41 lines (with J values ranging from 2 to 33) of HCN in the P, Q, and R branches of the ν band. These lines, located in the spectral range 610-810 cm, were recorded with a high-resolution tunable diode-laser spectrometer. A semiclassical impact calculation of these collisional broadenings provides results in the P and R branches as well as in the Q branch that for J > 10 are generally larger than the experimental data.
