Abstract
He broadened halfwidths of 26 lines in the v band of OCS have been measured from absorption spectra recorded at room temperature with a tunable diode-laser spectrometer. The results are compared with values calculated on the basis of the Anderson- Tsao-Curnutte theory and an improved semi-classical impact model developed by Robert and Bonamy. Both models have been applied by using a Smith-Giraud-Cooper intermolecular potential. Different sets of values for the potential parameters have been determined by fitting the calculated results to experimental data.
