Identification of microsatellite markers in pigeon pea for exploitation of biodiversity with respect to earliness and drought resistance

Project: PHD

Project Details

Description

The aim of this project is to produce codominant molecular markers that can be easily used in routine on pigeon pea (Cajanus cajan) to assess biodiversity. Microsatellites were choosen, despite the fact that their preliminary identification is long and expensive. This technology should help breeding this legume that is a staple food to millions of people in Latin America.
