Résumé

Business Intelligence is known as helping decision makers in their decision-making processes. It supports organizations in responding to changes in their environment. Belgian independent pharmacies have to deal with increasing competition, legislation, emergence of new technology and the increasing amount of data available. This leads them to conduct analyses, make predictions and make several decisions. The question arises to know if using a Business Intelligence solution is useful for independent Belgian pharmacies, to define which decisions of a pharmacist could be supported by a Business Intelligence solution and to identify measures that can help to make these decisions. Three Belgian pharmacy managers were interviewed between April and July 2019 to answer these questions. The interviewees were asked several questions related to their decisions and the data collected. This study shows that independent Belgian pharmacies could use a Business Intelligence to support their decision-making processes. Seven main decisions were identified, and one to six measures were defined per decision.
