Résumé

The exponential evolution of the amount of data and information issued has a significant impact on decision-making processes in a global way. Managing so much information is a challenge for decision-makers. Therefore, a multitude of decision support systems compounded of various mathematical and analytical models have been developed over time. In recent years, the emergence of new technologies has inspired researchers and experts to develop and use computer systems to enhance sports performance, including facilitating decision-making processes. This work aims to identify a decision-making process considered as standard for a tennis coach. Interviews with several coaches identified some issues related to the decisions they have to make. Based on these observations and the literature, a multi-agent system to help tennis coaches is designed. This system provides a quantitative method for objectively estimating a player's level. A process is included in the system to group players as optimally as possible by considering decision variables in order of importance. The system also provides recommendations on what to do in training according to the characteristics of the players. It should be highlighted that this is preliminary work and a pilot system to be improved. However, it seems that such a system could have a significant contribution to the decision-making process of tennis coaches.
