    Résumé

In this study the influence of chromating on the corrosion resistance of zinc coating is investigated with the scanning Kelvin probe technique (SKP). Two different treatments were used: a classical industrial solution, i.e. chromates with a small amount of phosphates and a chromating product prepared in laboratory. The scanning Kelvin probe technique evidences the fact that industrial chromating acts as a cathodic inhibitor. Scanning Kelvin probe allows also to evaluate the quality (efficiency and homogeneity) of the chromating and provides evidence that the protective properties of chromating are kept in a lightly corrosive environment.
