Poly(oxyethylene) oleyl ethers as templating agents for the synthesis of large pore mesoporous materials

    Résumé

    The synthesis of silica mesoporous materials using polyoxyethylene alkyl ether and in particular decaoxyethylene oleyl ether C18H35 (CH2CH2O)10 as templating agent has been reported. Characterization of final products by nitrogen adsorption analysis shows that the value of pore diameter depends on several factors such as heating temperature and time, stirring time of micellar solution and pH of the gel. The expansion of pore size with increasing temperature was explained by taking into account the change of surfactant conformation with temperature.
