The momentum representation of the restricted Hartree-Fock (double occupancy) equation for the helium atom is derived. The integrals occurring in the case of the
helium ground-state orbital approximated by a single 1s Slater type atomic function are evaluated using the Fourier transform method to illustrate its convenience. Directions are given how to proceed to carry out in momentum space a full numerical evaluation of the ground-state Hartree-Fock wavefunction of atomic helium.
