Résumé

Proximal hamstring tendinopathy is an injury observed in certain sports. In order to assess symptom severity, a practitioner developed the Victorian Institute of Sport Assessment Scale for Proximal Hamstring Tendinopathy (VISA-H). A French version of this scale would be useful. We thus translated the initial questionnaire with transcultural adaptations as recommended by international guidelines. The psychometric performance of the French version was then measured in order to obtain a valid version. The French version of the VISA-H has demonstrated very good test-retest reliability (ICC 0.933). It displayed internal coherence (0.928) and a strong correlation, with one part of the subscales converging with a general health questionnaire. No ceiling or floor effect was observed. The French version of the VISA-H appears to exhibit a good, easily understood, intercultural adaptation. This study demonstrates that this version could be used as a reliable valid questionnaire for French-speaking patients with proximal hamstring tendinopathy.
