Résumé
The achievements of education in French-speaking Belgium are weak when compared to other countries, in spite of a generous financing. The results could improve if we drew inspiration from more successful countries. In the proposal developed here, schools would be rated on basis of the progress made by their students; they would be financially incited to register children of various competences and social origins; they would have more freedom concerning the allocation of their teachers' time and of their means. Some other questions relative to the global organization of the education system are also dealt with.
