Abstract

The Internet of Things, or the interconnection of sensors, actuators and other physical or virtual objects through information and communication technologies, has been gradually involved in companies for a few years to offer all kinds of services. These technologies go so far as to play an important role in the proper functioning of an organization by improving performance in all its layers of activity. The opportunities
offered by the Internet of Things will first be studied within the framework of an organization with a wide range of activities before illustrating these results with the help of the research that has been done in a specific case : that of the BEP (Economic Office of the Province of Namur). A study of environmental information recoverable via the use of the vehicles of such an organization will then be carried out. It will focus on the case of the BEP, which has a large fleet of garbage trucks. The results presented here aim to imbue such organizations with this topic and to help them identify projects that could be carried out in their business.
