Abstract

The ABAC access control model was created with the main feature of providing increased flexibility, by using policies that can combine attributes from various sources. The paradigm of the Internet of Things is spreading more and more throughout the world, the possibility of using systems equipped with sensors and actuators has therefore also increased. In this context, a combination between the ABAC model and the Internet of Things could theoretically be beneficial for two reasons, because it would extend the wealth of available attributes to the drafting of security policies, while offering the possibility to act on the environment when necessary. This thesis proposes the use of proactive computing, through a proactive engine, to make this combination possible.
