Abstract
Today, around 47 million people have dementia worldwide. Unfortunately, there’s still no cure or way to stop its progression. However, tools exist like the life story book that try to improve the well-being of the person with dementia and those around her. The purpose of this thesis was to analyze the different possible adaptations for a computerized life story book and the exceptional needs that arise in Human-computer interaction. Our findings allowed us to compile a list of guidelines for interface design, identified an opportunity to allow the person with dementia to be an independent main user and explored various adaptives featuresthat might be a positive addition.
