Abstract

3-cyano-2,2-dimethyl cyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid obtained in 62% yield from isobutyraldehyde, dimethylmalonate, NBS and NaCN is readily transformed to tittle compounds precursors of potent natural and unatural pyrethrinoic insecticides.
