Abstract

We propose a simplified diagnostic procedure for the general practitionner dealing with a sensorineural hearing loss and we emphasize the need for an urgent medical treatment in case of sudden hearing loss. The prevention of deafness and tinnitus must be developped through protection against environmental noises. For the rehabilitation, the new generation of hearing aids offers interesting technological advances. In the future, we hope to be able to regenerate the destroyed hair cells in the inner ear.
