Abstract
Di-,tri-,tetrasubstituted β-hydroxysulfides readily prepared from α-thioalkyllithiums and carbonyl compounds are easily transformed to di- and trisubstituted olefins on reaction with PI or PI, and to tetrasubstituted ones with SOCl.
