    Research output: Patent

    Abstract

The process comprises preparing a target (3) from a precursor of the radio-isotope (1) and an optional metal support (2). The target is irradiated in an irradiation chamber by a beam of accelerated particles to induce transmutation of the precursor into the radio-isotope. The target is then heated to provoke effusion of the radio-isotope (4) outside the target in the form of a gas, which is collected and condensed into a solid or liquid.
