Abstract
Study of the 22 hieroglyphic inscriptions engraved in Wadi Hammamat, halfway between Coptos and the Red Sea, during the First Persian domination, more precisely between 496 and 449 BC. Accompanied by recent quality photographs, this philological and historical study also offers a revised translation of the texts and an iconographic analysis of the associated scenes.
