Abstract
The chapter will first show that the name of each of the lists present in the 2012 municipal elections in Wallonia is the result of a history specific to the candidates and the political space in which they claim to be rooted. We will then show that it is possible to draw up, beyond an anecdotal inventory, a synthetic picture of the choice of lists in the 2012 municipal elections. To do this, we will construct a typology of list names in order to highlight certain major trends in the choice of names. Finally, through a quantitative approach, we will show that the choice of the name of the lists is influenced by a whole series of factors that will help us to explain this political process.
