Abstract
This paper proposes an insight into the technology of blade production carried out in the area of Petit-Spiennes from the neolithic mining complex of Spiennes (Hainaut, belgium). the blade production seems globally quite standardized. the blocks are shaped by the setting of two postero-lateral crests. the debitage aimed at obtaining large blades of more than 130-140mm in length and 27-30mm in width. two techniques seem to be used in conjunction for the blade detachment: indirect percussion and lever pressure.
