N2 - The most important modifications of PTFE surface composition are obtained when the polymer is irradiated with an excimer laser in O2: with XPS, we have shown the possibility to oxidize more than 2% of carbon species on the polymer surface; they might be proved suitable to improve compatibility with biological tissues.
