Etat des lieux du stress et de la dépression chez les étudiants de 1 ère et 2 ème année de médecine

Abstract

NUMEROUS STUDIES HAVE DEMONSTRATED HIGH LEVELS OF STRESS AND DEPRESSION AMONG MEDICAL STUDENTS. DATA ON PERCEIVED STRESS, DEPRESSION AND SUICIDAL IDEATION WERE COLLECTED FROM 865 STUDENTS IN 1ST AND 2ND YEAR OF MEDICINE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NAMUR IN BELGIUM. SOCIO-DEMOGRAPHIC DATA WERE ALSO COLLECTED. 37.1% OF STUDENTS HAD PERCEIVED STRESS SCORE THAT CAN BE DESCRIBED AS HIGH, VERY HIGH OR EXTREMELY HIGH. OVER HALF OF THE STUDENTS (53.5%) HAD AT LEAST A CERTAIN LEVEL OF DEPRESSION. IN ADDITION, BETWEEN 8.4% AND 8.9% OF STUDENTS REPORTED HAVING HAD SUICIDAL THOUGHTS.
