Retrait anticipé du marché de l'emploi et exclusion sociale: Le cas des chômeurs â̂gés en belgique

Translated title of the contribution: Early retirement from the employment market and social exclusion

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

For many years, Belgian government public policies have favoured the early retirement of older employees from the employment market, especially through the creation of a status for older unemployed people. The paper shows how the status has helped to improve the living conditions and well-being of this specific category of people prematurely excluded from the employment market. It also shows, however, that the social problem has somehow been shifted to another younger and morevulnerable age-group, the forties.
