Abstract
This paper discloses the chemoselective cleavage of selenoacetals. Informations concerning the intimate mechanism of such process are produced as well as unambiguous experimental results concerning the relative stabilization of a carbanionic center by phenylthio, phenylseleno and methylseleno moieties.
