Abstract

A model of destination choice in daily travel patterns is proposed that attempts to combine both spatial and temporal variables. The concept of "action-space" as introduced by Dijst and Vidakovic (1997) is used to simplify the set of spatial alternatives. The model is calibrated using the MOBEL database (Hubert and Toint, 2002). This approach to modelling is shown to bring improvements in the realism of the model and in the value of the associated log-likelihood function.
