Project Details

Description

The optical properties of metallic nanoparticles is an expanding field
of investigation, due to the possibilities of control and manipulation
of their visible and ultraviolet electromagnetic excitations. The aim of
this project the development of numerical methods for the simulation of
metallic nanostructures electromagnetic response. In Particular, the
simulation of the Electron Energy Loss Spectra (EELS) of metallic
nanoparticles of various shape will be performed in close collaboration
with experimental investigations performed at the 'Laboratoire de
Physique des Solides' of the University of Paris-Sud, Orsay, France
