Project Details
Description
Carbonic anhydrase IX is overexpressed in cancer cells. Its role is to acidify the medium by the catalysis of the hydration of carbon dioxide into bicarbonate anion and proton. Acidic pH is associated with a metastatic phenotype and a chemoresistance. Our work is focused on the design of CA IX inhibitors by combining a ligand and a target-based rational approach.
