Project Details
Description
The concept of grids for health was born in Europe in 2002 and has been carried forward through the Healthgrid initiative, which is an innovative use of emerging information technology to support broad access to rapid, cost-effective and high quality healthcare.
Starting from the white paper edited by the Healthgrid initiative, the SHARE project aims at defining a comprehensive and detailed European R&D roadmap, covering both technology and policy aspects, to guide and to achieve the wide deployment of Healthgrids in Europe. Such deployment require among others harmonization of existing legal frameworks for storing, accessing, communicating, and processing health related data between European countries.
