Role of endophilin-A3-dependent endocytosis and its cargo CD166 in cancer

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

Endophilin-A3 (EndoA3) is part of the BAR (Bin/Amphiphysin/Rvs) domain protein superfamily, specialized in membrane curvature sensing/induction. EndoA3 has recently been highlighted by my host lab as one of the main players in a novel clathrin-independent endocytic (CIE) mechanism. This pathway regulates cell surface homeostasis of CD166, a tumor marker which is an immunoglobulin-like protein involved in cell-cell and cell-surface interactions. The aim of this porject is to study the involvement of the endophilin-A3-dependent endocytosis and its cargo CD166 in cancer.
