Project Details
Description
Local and regional development agencies have often to evaluate the social and economic
situation of the territory for which they are designed. The assessment of the local public policy,
in particular its effects on the territory, appears to be also a frequent and desirable, unless real,
activity.
The research project focuses on the setting of a reference framework for the development of
recurrent statistical tools which are likely to be exploited and updates within the agency.
An application is done for the Provincial Economic Bureau of Namur (BEPN), in deep
interaction with the Bureau. Besides, indicators have been already used in a social and
economic assessment of the Provincial subdivisions with a view to the Euroipean
Structural Funds for the period 2000-2006
