Reaction-diffusion equations: the role of geometry and granularity

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

Reaction-diffusion equations are universal
tools used to model a broad range of complex phenomena in very different domains, such as economy, physics,
and biology. This project focuses on the unraveling of mechanisms responsible for the selection and formation
of spatio-temporal patterns in biologically inspired model. Particular emphasis
is placed on understanding the role of the underlying geometry, the finite size effect and the possible bifurcations in pattern development.
