Project Details

Description

This project has the specific goal of helping public administrations around Europe, especially cities, to increase their use of new communication technologies (IST Program, European Commission). Seven partners, mainly technical and commercial experts, have teamed up to create an international consortium. CRID is the legal expert of the consortium and has to diffuse the juridical information.

Public Administration and electronic Commerce in Europe (PACE), a project supported by the European Commission - Information Societies Technology (IST) Programme, is now underway! Seven partners have teamed up to create an international consortium with the specific goal of helping public administrations around Europe, especially cities, to increase their use of new communication technologies. Any European public administration, any technology provider, any project working to improve the technology in the field, is automatically a member of the PACE community! PACE addresses those difficult questions, choices, and quandaries intrinsic to the transformation to e-commerce in public administration. Through its activities and through this web site, PACE offers assistance to cities in developing new strategies for using e-commerce in their interactions with citizens, with suppliers, and with other administrations. PACE also offers original research, a comprehensive library, face-to-face training, and distance learning facilities. As well as finding useful resources and individual support, PACE community members can share their experiences, publicise their activities, and highlight their successes.
