Project Details

Description

This project, developed by the Direction des Eaux de Surface (D.G.R.N.E.) with the F.U.N.D.P. as contractants, will pursue the following objectives :

-the compilation of cartographic and alphanumeric data collected during field inventories carried out in the framework of the various river contracts;
-the analysis of the structure of these data;
-the adaptation and fitting of the new data sets to existing databases;
-a standardization of the protocol for encoding data into the database, and the development of an interface for the analysis and expression of data (Geographic Information System, web site).

The final aim of this project is to develop management and information dispatching tools accessible to anyone interested on the web site of the Division Générale des Ressources Naturelles et de l'Environnement ( ). River contracts do, of course, play an important part in the project. Eventually, they will benefit from standardized databases and protocols, as well as from ways to efficiently communicate their information to the public.
