Private resource mobilization

This work package investigates two aspects of the crucial issue of financing local micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). A first aspect specifically deals with improving access of SMEs, possibly also micro-entreprises, to private external financing. The second issue is how a more efficient interaction between formal and informal financial institutions, which still play a major role in many LICs, could contribute to improving access to external funds for micro- and small enterprises.
