Multi-application Smart cards in Cities

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

Smartcities is financed by IST program from European Commission. SmartCities is aiming at designing a dynamic smart card and multi-application management architecture to allow targeted markets (middle size cities) to benefit from the numerous advantage of the smart card environment without being tied to a unique, proprietary applicative model. SmartCities is also aiming at proving technical and commercial feasibility of exploiting multi-owner data sources gathered from the use of the smart card scheme.

Nine partners, mainly technical experts have teamed up to create an international consortium. CRID is the legal expert of the consortium and has to give answer to the other partners in order to develop an information system efficient and suitable with the European regulation, especially the privacy question.
