Project Details

Description

This collaboration aims at the experimental realization of high-performance light-emitting diodes (LEDs). Previous work has shown that increased light emission can be achieved by considering a periodic texturation at the surface of the LED. A Rigorous Coupled-Waves Analysis (RCWA) is used for the modeling of these structures. A parallel version of the Genetic Algorithm (property of UNamur) is then used to establish optimal parameters for the texturation of the LED. UCL and the University of Sherbrooke are responsible for the choice of materials and the experimental realization.
