Description
Traditionally, methodologies developed for building a database federation are generally based on a database integration approach. They produce the struc-ture of the federated schema that depends directly on the integrated export schemas and the integration method usued. In this thesis, we propose a metho-dology that combines forward and reverse methods. The export schemas are still obtained during a reverse-engineering process but the federated schemas are determined by both an integration and a forward engineering process.
