Description
Under this research project, the logic of behaviour of rural households is examined in various personal and family matters, such as gender-based allocation of labour and agricultural inputs, marriage payments and parental intervention in the event of children's marriage breakups, interpersonal transfers, and recourse to formal sources of law enforcement. The process of intra-household bargaining is also analyzed. The project has both a theoretical and empirical components.
