Project Details
Description
The inhibition of enzymes by multimeric species has very recently emerged
as a very appealing, yet exploratory, mode of enzyme inhibition. The
present project thus addresses the question of the biological relevance of
using glycofullerenes as multimeric enzyme inhibitors. Two main aspects
will be investigated: A) Can we target therapeutically relevant enzymes
thanks to this strategy ? B) Can these multimeric species enter into
eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells?
A direct application for the treatment of type 2 diabètes will be investigated.
