Project Details
Description
Tribological properties of steels like wear or corrosion are considerably modified when the steels are treated by Plasma Immersion Ion Implantation in nitrogen. The nitride layer formed at the surface of the steel is charactarized by using different techniques (RNRA, RBS, CEMS, XRD, Pin on Disk test,...) and the mechanisms related to the treated layer are explained.
