Experimental Investigation of Scalability and Interoperability Issues In SIP/IMS

Project: PHD

Project Details

Description

As the deployment of SIP-based communication infrastructure and IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) progresses, many shortcomings appear, in connection to scalability, overload and interoperability. These issues are the topic of ongoing debates in IETF working groups P2PSIP, SIPPING and BLISS. The purpose of this project is to contribute to these debates with the help of a local, virtual, open-source SIP/IMS testbed, that could be ported to PlanetLab later on.
