Description

The active role of patient in the management of his/her health is increasingly recognized as imperative. In the case of chronic diseases, patients are even considered as members of the care team. This research focuses on the role of patients with chronic disease in healthcare. The aim is to understand the factors acting as antecedents of patient engagement towards the management of his/her health and the consequences of this engagement for the stakeholders involved in the health service system. To reach this objective, we rely on the literature in service management and service marketing, more specifically, on the literature on customer engagement and the service system.
