Development of Highly Efficient Hierarchical Porous Material Catalysts for the Removal of Pollutants from Residential Wood Combustion

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

This project aims to develop an environmental remediation process. This means a system that would allow the fumes from stoves to be purified in order to reduce the release of dangerous gases. To do this, the researchers decided to place a chemical catalyst within the chimney itself. In chemistry, a catalyst is used to increase the speed of a reaction. By including it in a system operating at high temperature, it reduces the temperature at which the reaction occurs. This offers an energy saving.
