Project Details
Description
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) widely used in the treatment of inflammation but are a significant cause of adverse events such as gastrointestinal ulceration. Developement of selective COX-2 inhibitors should provide the same efficacy as NSAIDS with minimal ulcerogenic activity. In this project, synthesis and developement of a new serie of selective COX-2 inhibitors have been undertaken.
