Design and characterization by nonlinear optical spectroscopy and scanning probe microscopies of bioactive surfaces miming the cellular membranes

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

The design of surfaces reproducing biological systems provides models for the analysis of the physical-chemical and physiological properties of living systems, in order to develop new biomimetic molecular devices. This project focuses on the assembly of membrane models of lipid layers, and on their functionalisation with proteins, in order to elucidate the correlation between their molecular structure and (bio-)chemical reactivity and to build-up artificial biocompatible and bioactive surfaces.
