The aim of this project is to identify direct targets of VjbR, a transcriptionnal regulator belonging to the Brucella quorum sensing system. In various species, type III secretion system structural genes and genes coding effectors are coregulated. We suggest that VjbR, activator of virB expression can also activate the expression of effectors secreted by this type IV seretion system. Thus, VjbR new targets identification is one of the laboratory strategy to identify virB effectors. A second part of the project is determine if VjbR is the receptor of the C12-AHL identified at the laboratory.
